A tantárgy szakmai tartalma: Our goal is to apply basic micro- and macroeconomic tools to current economic policy issues comprised of: the connection between politics and economy, the division of labor, money, production, consumption, the firm, collective efficiency, and the practice of moral and cultural values in economy. The course presents the scientific debate on these topics and involves the students by several forms of group and individual activity.

These topics are currently in the focus point of the economic and business analysis. After the unipolar hegemony the evolution of the new world order underlines the need for deeper understanding of such terms as growth vs development; survivability vs sustainability; harmony among consumption and production; the role of culture and religions in the economic trends.

Évközi tanulmányi követelmények:

Vizsgakövetelmény: There is no exam in the exam period – students get their mark based on their work during the semester. Grades are earned by the students based on their class attendance, class participation, their presentations and their research reports and related activities.

Az értékelés módszere:

Tananyag leírása: The goal of this course is to describe the above mentioned questions and possible answers. For that purpose our aim is to build the semester on group works followed by common critical analysis. In that way students may form their own opinions efficiently and improve their presentation skills. However the most important advantage of this method is to motivate each and every students to shape his/her own statements regarding the current trends based on the new and classic literature. Beside the compulsory readings we will study several articles, speeches of leading scientists and politicians.

We offer that course to everybody who would like to deepen the existing knowledge and would like to adapt it to concrete cases and to those who are not economists (or not yet) but are interested in this way of thinking.

We focus on current debates relating to the global political economy and the place and role of the state in the evolution of the global economy. We concentrate on the following topics: transformations in the international division of labor; evolution of institutional structures. This course examines the past, present and future of International Political Economics.
