A tantárgy szakmai tartalma: This undergraduate course presents the foundations of macroeconomic
model building. The course provides a basic framework to address relevant macroeconomic issues
and quantitatively evaluate different policies. Besides familiarizing students with formal modeling
techniques, the course also introduces the required programming tools to solve complex dynamic
models.

 Quizzes: There will be short quizzes at the beginning of lectures, 20% of the grade in total.
 Essay: Students have to address a macroeconomic question in not more than 8000 characters.
The essay has to incorporate models studied in the course. 20% of the grade.
 Midterm and final test: There will be two tests covering the material of this course. Each test
will count as 30% of the grade, 60% in total.

Órarendi beosztás: Lectures each Monday 15:30-17:00, seminars each Wednesday or Thursday 15:30-17:00,
based on registration in the Neptun system.

A hallgató egyéni munkával megoldandó feladatai: Computers are not to be used unless instructed to do so.
– Lecture notes and slides do not explain the course material in detail, therefore attending
the lectures and taking notes is essential. The absentee is responsible for all missed work
and has to collect missing notes and course material, regardless the reason for absence.
– Discussion among students is encouraged, however, students have to solve the quizzes,
write the essay, and take the tests individually. In line with the Code of Conduct of
Corvinus University of Budapest, accepting solutions from others is an act of academic
misconduct and will be penalized by a grade of zero to the assignment. Multiple violations
will result in a Fail (1) grade and a referral to the Conduct Review Board for possible
additional sanctions.

and will be penalized by a Fail (1) grade AND by a referral to the Conduct Review Board
for possible additional sanctions.
