The activity of the department
The application of mathematics and informatics is based on the fact that the language and methods of mathematics completed with informatical structures are capable to model complex living systems. While learning of problems originating in horticulture, food industry or landscape architecture often complex knowledge of a good few of specials fields is needed.
Several mathematical, informatical or statistical methods such as experimental design, statistical evaluation, modelling etc. have been integrated in the agro-sciences, nevertheless, some applications motivate the improvement of mathematical-informatical methods which can result the birth of new special fields or even disciplines.
The students can open the door to the applications of mathematics, statistics, biometrics, informatics or operational research during our advanced courses. We also provide the basic courses to fill the requirements of the advanced trainings.
