Managerial Accounting

Management accounting is concerned with providing information to managers, people inside an organization who direct and control its operations. This subject covers the basic tools and techniques of managerial accounting to measure business performance and to implement the strategy at tactical and strategic level as well. Management accounting will be viewed from the perspective of both the provider and user of information. In that respect, this subject is divided into three main sections. • Costing methods including the cost allocation, job costing, process costing and activity based costing systems • Decision making including cost behaviour and cost-volume-profit analysis, relevant information for decision making, different short-term decisions: the make or buy decisions, special orders, adding and dropping product lines and segments, utilization of a constrained resource • Planning and control including the preparation of Master budget, standard costing and variance analysis , management control in decentralized organization, responsibility accounting
